Sony NEX FS-100 Baseplate

The Sony NEX FS-100 baseplate has been developed specifically for the popular FS-100, this baseplate can be configured in a number of ways to achieve perfect balance for handheld use or on a tripod. The top plate can be moved forward or rearward so that if you are running a large lens out the front or rear mount battery or other accessories in the rear, you will be able to achieve the balance you need. The top plate can also be used separately so you can mount your dovetail plate directly to the bottom of your camera. Up and down iris rod height adjustability is available via the dual Quad Blocks that hold the iris rod so that you can accommodate just about any lens, follow focus and matte box combination. The bottom plate is drilled and tapped to allow you to add our Cross Clamp for creating a cage or adding additional handles or other accessories.

The guys at Berkey System don’t sleep when it comes to creating new products and the Accessory Mounting Plate for the NEX FS-100 is no exception. DP Alex Horner used the new plate while shooting for Crestliner Boats in Minnesota and we were able to get a close-up of the new mounting plate and it looks to be a winner. It appears to be extremely versatile, allowing the use of top mounted iris rods, EVF’s, cages, handles, and well, just about anything you might need to customize your camera can go on this plate. The influential Peter Lundstrom aka Editman of Stockholm had a hand in designing this wildly popular cage. A top handle lets you get way down for great sports action shots and the side handles make for easy work when shooting from a standing position or a tripod. This rig begs to be customized with additional handles, a shoulder or chest pad and accessory mount blocks for mounting all of the extras that every cameraman wants on his rig.
